What You Should Know About This Form

1. What documents do I need to submit with my application form to Eastcape Midlands College?

When applying to Eastcape Midlands College, you must include several important documents. These are: a certified copy of your ID document, a certified copy of your passport (if you are an international student), and a certified copy of the ID of your parents, guardian, or surety if you are a dependent. You also need to provide a certified copy of your study permit, if applicable. For high school applicants, submit your Grade 12 certificate along with statements of results. If you have other qualifications, include your academic record from previous institutions, and, if applicable, a certified copy of your highest school qualification from Grade 9 to 11. Lastly, don’t forget to get your parents or guardian's signatures on the appropriate sections of the form.

2. How should I fill out the application form?

You should complete the Eastcape Midlands College application form using capital letters and a black pen. It’s important to answer all questions fully. If there are sections of the form that you leave blank, or if you fail to attach the required documents, your application may not be processed or may be delayed. Therefore, make sure to take your time and fill out every section with accurate information.

3. What happens after I submit my application?

After submitting your application, the college will review all applications received. It is important to note that submitting the application form does not guarantee admission, even if you meet the minimum entry requirements. The college will consider all applications carefully. Once a decision has been made, you will be informed of the outcome. This process may take some time, so it’s advisable to keep an eye on your contact information for any updates.

4. Can I change my course after submitting the application?

Changes to your course can be made, but there are specific conditions. Once you submit your application, you have ten working days from the commencement of classes to discuss any changes with the Campus Manager. If you need to change a subject or course after this period, an administration fee will apply, and changes may not be accepted. Always consult the campus for guidance on how to proceed with any changes you might want to make.

Common mistakes

Filling out the Eastcape Midlands College Application form can be a straightforward process, but many applicants make common mistakes that can hinder their chances of acceptance. One of the most frequent errors is failing to complete the form in full. Incomplete applications may lead to processing delays or outright rejection. Each section must be filled out completely, enhancing the likelihood that the application will be processed smoothly.

Another mistake is not providing the required documentation. Applicants who neglect to include certified copies of necessary documents, such as their ID or academic records, risk having their application not processed. It’s essential to gather all required documents beforehand to ensure a seamless submission. Keep in mind that missing documents can significantly prolong the application process.

Using incorrect writing instruments is also a common error. The instructions clearly state that applicants should use a black pen and capital letters. Applications filled out in blue ink or with illegible handwriting may be difficult to read and can lead to misunderstandings, potentially affecting the outcome.

Finally, many applicants overlook the importance of signatures on key sections of the form. Without the appropriate signatures from both the applicant and their parents or guardians (if applicable), the application cannot be processed. Be sure to review the application thoroughly to confirm that all necessary signatures are present before submission. Double-check these details to increase your chances of a successful application.
